Why does my toilet keep running?
Flapper
This issue can occur from a few main issues with residential toilets. The toilets Flapper isn’t sealing properly and could need replaced.
Fill Valve
The toilets Fill Valve is faulty, with tie the valves can wear out and stick causing the toilet to constantly cycle. This would require possible adjusting or replacement of the Fill Valve.
Float
The toilets Float is set to High. The float tells the toilet when to stop filling. If it’s too high, water flows into the overflow tube nonstop. Lower the Float to about 1 inch below overflow tube.
Chain
The Toilet’s chain could be Too Long or Too Short. A chain that’s too short keeps the flapper slightly open. A chain that’s too long can get stuck under the flapper. This would Require chain adjustment to just a little slack
